Von Hasen und Pferden / of rabbits and horses

Neben all den guten Sachen, die wir hier in Deutschland unternehmen....konnten wir heute Sabine und Matthias treffen. Herbert kennt Sabine noch aus seinen fruehen Jahren (auch Jugend genannt) waehrend ich sie nur von einigen E-Mails kennen. Wir beiden trafen Matthias heute das erste Mal. Es war ein wirklich netter Nachmittag. Typisch Deutsch (und das ist in keinster Weise abwertend gemeint - eher genau das Gegenteil) : man servierte uns Kaffee und Kuchen (vielen Dank fuer Eure Gastfreundschaft - wir haben sie sehr genossen!). Nach einer Weile stiess Paula, Sabine und Matthias Tochter, zu uns. Sie zeigte uns ihre Hasen Willi und Fridoline. Zu suess! Ich war nur ein wenig aengstlich, dass die beiden davonhoppeln, waehrend sie auf meinem Schoss sassen. Etwas spaeter fuhren wir zu Sabine und Paula's Pferd Gracia. Was fuer ein wundervolles Tier! Sabine, Du kannst wirklich stolz darauf sein, sie zu besitzen! Ich hatte ne Menge Spass beim Striegeln aber als Sabine mich fragte, ob ich mal aufsitzen wollte, sagte ich doch "Nein". Nun tut es mir schon wieder leid, diese Chance vertan zu haben - es ist schon eine Ewigkeit her, dass ich auf einem Pferderuecken sass!
Beside all the good stuff we're doing here in Germany ... we were able to see Sabine and Matthias today. Herbert and Sabine know each other from the earlier years while I did know her just because we're writing e-mails. We both got to meet Matthias today the first time. It was a really nice afternoon. Typical German : we got coffee and cake (thank you so much for you hospitality - we enjoyed it a lot!). After a little while Paula, Sabine and Matthias daughter, joined us. She showed us her rabbits Willi and Fridoline. Too cute! I was just a little bit scared that they will run away while I was having them on my lap. Later we went to Sabine and Paula's horse Gracia. What a beautiful animal. Sabine, you can be proud to be her owner! I had a lot of fun brushing Gracia but when Sabine asked me to sit on Gracia I said "No". Now I'm sorry that I lost this chance - it's long a ago that I was sitting on the back of a horse!
