Apropos Limetten / Speaking of limes...

Vor einigen Wochen stellte ich fest, dass der Daumen meiner linken Hand an einer Stelle super rot war. Es dauerte wieder einige Wochen bevor die betroffene Stelle dann dunkel braun wurde, bevor sie abpellte. Danach sah alles wieder ganz normal aus und wer braucht dann noch zu wissen, was das war, richtig?!
Es ist nun schon wieder einige Wochen her als ich ploetzlich feststellte, dass zwei Finger meiner rechten Hand ploetzlich so rot waren, als wenn ich sie verbrannt haette. Diesmal juckte es auch ein wenig. Ich hab mir staendig die Finger eingecremt, aber so wirklich besser wurde es dadurch nicht.....da wurde ich doch ein wenig unruhig/neugierig! Ich war bereits in der "fortgeschrittenen" Phase, in der sich die Haut loeste, als ich dann doch einen Arzttermin gemacht habe. Ich wusste zwar bereits, dass es nicht ansteckend sein kann, aber egal....nun war ich neugierig!
Der Arzt sah die Stellen und fragte augenblicklich, ob ich mit Limettensaft in Kontakt gekommen waere! Aeeehm, ja!? Ich hab mir vermutlich danach die Haende nicht gruendlich genug gewaschen und was ich an meinen Finger verfolgen konnte ist das, was Limettensaft mit der/meiner Haut macht, wenn die Sonne darauf scheint ;) Ich fuehlte mich ein wenig "blond" in dem Moment, auf der anderen Seite war ich natuerlich aber auch froh, dass es sich nicht um was ernsthaftes handelte ;)
A couple of month ago I realized a red spot on my left hand thumb. It looked like burned but didn't feel this way. After a few weeks the effected skin turned really dark brown and after a few more days the skin peeled. When this was done - everything looked normal again so who cares what it was, right?
A few weeks ago I realized all of a sudden that two fingers on my right hand starded the same way. They both looked burned and this time it was a little bit itchy too. I used tons of lotion but it didn't get better....I stardet to be concerned! I was already in the advanced stage of loosing the skin when I finally made a doctors appointment. By then I knew already that it wasn't contagious but anyhow - I wanted to know what's going on.
The doc saw the spots and asked me if my skin was in contact with lime juice. Aeeh, yeah?! Well, I probably didn't wash my hands proper and steped out in the sun....the sun burned the lime juice on my skin and into my skin..... ;) I felt kind of dumb but on the other hand I was happy that it wasn't anything serious!
